Welcome to the home of one of Ontario’s oldest agricultural fairs, presented by the Prince Edward Agricultural Society (established 1831) and held annually at the Picton Fairgrounds in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
The first fair in Prince Edward County took place in 1836. Horse races and prize livestock were big draws. For decades, the fair opened with a parade of school children. Through the hard years of the Depression, the fair had to be cancelled but it has continued ever since as an annual event, and has remained a good, old fashioned country fair and a place for old friends to meet and new friends to be made.
From our historical Crystal Palace, (only one of it’s kind left in North America) to first class exhibits of homecrafts, woodcrafts, schools, cattle & horse shows, midway, live music in the Crystal Palace Community Centre All, and our popular “Rising Star” competition. Tractor pull, Demolition Derby & Lawn Tractor racing etc… At the Picton Fair you will find something for everyone and located just 2 hours from Toronto, 3 hours from Ottawa and Montreal.
